On June 7, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), a signing ceremony was held for the agreement to create the BRICS+ Foundations League in the Field of Science and Education Development. The signing of the agreement marks an important step towards deepening cooperation among the funds and organizations in the BRICS+ area, aimed at supporting scientific research and educational initiatives.
The goal of the BRICS+ League of Foundations is to facilitate the development of scientific and educational activities on a global level, collaboratively identifying and addressing future challenges through the exchange of knowledge and resources via international cooperation.
The creation of the BRICS+ League of Foundations was initiated by the Andrey Melnichenko Foundation. The initiative was supported by the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry (India), the Chinese Center for Technology Transfer of SCO Member States, BRICS Center (Brazil), Value Makers Studio (Saudi Arabia), Guanhua Science and Technology Foundation (China), OBM Foundation (Egypt), Nahdet Misr Publishing Group (Egypt), National Innovation Foundation (India), and Ziyo Forum Science and Education Development Foundation (Uzbekistan).
Following the signing ceremony, a session was held on the theme: "At the Beginning of the Future: How the Cooperation of Funds Contributes to the Growth of the BRICS Countries' Potential."
During the session, representatives of the BRICS+ member countries discussed the experience of financial and resource support for science-intensive projects in their countries, exchanged strategies and practices aimed at stimulating scientific research and educational programs, covering aspects from financing to creating the necessary infrastructure. Moreover, participants emphasized the importance of coordinating efforts to improve conditions for the development of science and education, including issues of expanding financing, supporting innovation, and creating effective mechanisms for interaction between various educational and scientific institutions.
