The SCO Youth Council Supports Initiatives of the Melnichenko Foundation
The 17th meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Youth Council took place on June 20, 2024. The event was held in Astana, the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which has been chairing the SCO since July 5, 2023.
The meeting featured participation from Alexandra Didenko, Director of the Education Department at the Melnichenko Foundation, who presented initiatives from the BRICS+ League of Funds aimed at the development of science and education. The objectives and tasks of the "BRICS+ Future Makers Award" were thoroughly discussed. This international award is designed to support young talents in the fields of science, technology, and innovation.
The SCO Youth Council expressed support for the initiatives presented by the Melnichenko Foundation and acknowledged the importance of such projects for strengthening international scientific and educational cooperation. Participants were invited to collaborate within the framework of the Award, which will open new opportunities for young scientists and innovators.
Representatives from 10 countries, including Belarus and Iran, which were officially accepted into the SCO Youth Council, attended the meeting. Important decisions were made for the further development of cooperation among the youth of the member countries.
